Checking In: Four Seasons San Francisco at Embarcadero

A stay where every detail whispers luxury — even the slippers come in baby size.

Let me start by saying — I’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels, but there’s something about Four Seasons San Francisco at Embarcadero that felt both elevated and intimate in the most unexpected way.

From the moment we stepped into the suite, it was clear: here, every detail is considered. Think: a curated pillow menu, the perfect mattress density, and robe and slipper options in every imaginable size — yes, even for the littlest travelers.

We were given two rooms, one of them a corner suite, seamlessly connected by a private corridor closed off just for us. Floor-to-ceiling windows opened up to breathtaking panoramic views — after all, this is the tallest hotel in San Francisco. Watching the city wake up from this high above was nothing short of magical.

The next morning, we ordered breakfast in the room — and it was everything you’d hope for: beautifully set, fresh, flavorful, and quietly luxurious. There’s something about starting your day with perfectly poached eggs and fresh fruit, wrapped in a robe, with the city skyline just outside your window.

It made our stay with family — and especially with kids — feel easy, relaxed, and entirely our own.

Thoughtfulness in Every Corner

What truly stood out was the hotel’s intuitive approach to comfort. Phone chargers and outlets were everywhere — on nightstands, by the bathtub, even at our restaurant table, making it effortless to stay connected and at ease.

But the most heartwarming touch? A beautifully illustrated children’s bedtime storybook waiting in the room. Colorful, gentle, and thoughtfully chosen — it felt like the hotel was speaking directly to our littlest guest, creating a magical moment of calm and wonder before bed. It's those unexpected details that stay with you.

And just steps from the hotel? A Golden Goose boutique, where you can design and customize your own sneakers — the perfect souvenir for those who love a personal touch in both travel and style.

Dinner at Orafo: Italian Delights, Thoughtfully Served

For dinner, we headed to the hotel’s Italian restaurant — Orafo, a warm and welcoming spot located on the ground floor. The ambiance is refined and intimate — perfect for a slow, elegant evening.

The restaurant proudly holds two Michelin stars, and you can taste that level of excellence in every course.

We started with a trio of appetizers:

• Crudo, delicate and fresh

• Crispy calamari in a golden, airy breading

• Chicken wings (a hit with my little brother — approved!)

For mains, we shared:

• Fresh tomato & burrata pasta

• A perfectly creamy risotto

• Grilled salmon that melted in your mouth

And for dessert?A warm croissant with ice cream and caramel — indulgent, comforting, and the perfect end to a beautiful day.

Why This Stay Felt Different

It wasn’t just the view (though it was spectacular), or the food, or the plush bedsheets. It was the sense of being genuinely cared for. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple, or a family with little ones in tow, Four Seasons Embarcadero delivers a rare kind of quiet luxury — one where every detail is there to support your ease, comfort, and joy.

If you're planning a San Francisco getaway and want to stay somewhere that feels both indulgent and personal, this is a place that will stay in your memory — and in your heart — long after checkout.
