We set out from Los Angeles for a 7-hour drive to Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel in Sedona. The road itself felt like part of the adventure: desert landscapes, mountain ranges, and the final stretch along Red Rock Scenic Byway, where every turn revealed breathtaking red rock views.
The Hotel: Ambiente
Ambiente is a boutique hotel seamlessly built into Sedona’s landscape. Each glass-walled “atrium” villa feels like a private sanctuary with floor-to-ceiling windows, a king-size bed, and a spa-style bathroom with a rainfall shower and soaking tub. On the rooftop, every guest has a private lounge with a daybed and firepit, the perfect spot for sunsets and stargazing.
The service was exceptional. Every request was handled instantly and with a smile. In the evenings, the staff prepared our bed for sleep and left small thoughtful gifts like cookies, honey, or marshmallows for hot cocoa. Those little touches made us feel truly cared for.
Sleeping Under the Stars
The highlight of our stay was spending a night on the rooftop under the open sky. Wrapped in cozy blankets by the fire, we watched the sunset fade into one of the clearest starry skies I’ve ever seen. The Milky Way stretched right above us, and we decided to fall asleep there until morning. It was a rare and unforgettable mix of luxury and pure nature.
Poolside Relaxation and Hiking
By day, we enjoyed the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, surrounded by stunning red rock views. In the morning, we hiked a trail that begins right at the hotel — no driving needed. The short hike rewarded us with panoramic views of Sedona’s iconic cliffs and valleys.
Final Thoughts
Our two days at Ambiente felt like a true reset. This is a place where wild nature meets modern comfort, where luxury is woven into every detail without breaking the connection to the land. If you’re looking for an extraordinary getaway — sleeping under the stars, hiking at sunrise, and enjoying impeccable service — Ambiente in Sedona is the destination to choose.
