A Perfect Girls’ Night at Boucherie

Boucherie is hands-down my favorite spot in New York City—the kind of place that keeps pulling you back. Some restaurants win you over with food, others with ambiance. Boucherie? It nails both. Dinner with friends there always feels easy and cozy. We lingered for hours, bathed in soft golden light, lost in conversation, and totally unaware of the time.
Last night, we had the ultimate girls’ night out at Boucherie. The moment you walk in, the place sets the tone: high ceilings, a warm glow, the hum of voices, and a touch of Paris right in the heart of Manhattan.
We kicked things off with some classic French starters. The beef tartare was a standout—seasoned just right, topped with a quail egg yolk, and incredibly fresh. Served with crisp toast and a light salad, it vanished fast. We also shared a rich terrine, paired with tangy cornichons and sweet cherries. Velvety smooth and just right with a slice of warm bread.
For the main dish, we went all in on comfort: a tender cut of beef over creamy mashed potatoes, all bathed in a deep, savory sauce. Each bite was full of flavor, cooked just right—something you wanted to slow down and really enjoy.
And dessert? A total showstopper. First, a classic crème brûlée with that perfect sugary crust that cracks under your spoon, topped with fresh strawberries. Then a warm, gooey chocolate dessert with rich sauce—we passed it around because everyone had to have a bite. We ended with a soft slice of cake, drizzled in sauce and served with a scoop of ice cream. Honestly, it was the cherry on top of a perfect night.
We didn’t want to leave. We laughed, talked about everything and nothing, and soaked in the kind of evening that stays with you. Nights like these are why I love places like Boucherie—not just for the food, but for the feeling. It’s the kind of place that turns dinner into a memory.
